Winter Is On The Horizon...

Thursday, November 5, 2009

As I looked passed the trees this morning, I saw white on the mountain peaks. The air is getting crisper and the drizzle grows colder and unforgiving. Right now I'm especially thankful for the thick overcast above, keeping some level of insulation around us.

Is it seriously already November?? I fear the last item on my Autumn Agenda will not happen with Mat working so much overtime and what little free time he does have is being spent elsewhere.

I do find however that I am looking forward to my "December docket" {aka anti-hibernation plan...aka things to do this winter}. I've already discussed a few fun things with the mister and some of these ideas I have had mulling around in my head.

  • Sledding. This must happen. It will be a first for Charlie.
  • Leavenworth - haven't talked with Mat about it, but I'd love to go! Shop, eat good food, and relax.
  • Baking extravaganza! Each holiday season I get out my oven mitts, roll up the sleeves, and bake. And I make marshmallows. This year will be no different.

  • Snowland at the Great Wolf Lodge. I'm super excited for this! Mat, Charlie, and I will be hanging out at the Grand Mound GWL just in time for their Snowland event. There will be lots of fun things going on too! Holiday stories, a toy creation station, Polar Wolf Walk...annnd I hear Santa will be making special appearances as well. Last time we were at the GWL, Charlie wasn't quite walking on her own. So now she'll be tearing it up! Plus I get to meet up with some pretty cool chicks like Kristin, Shannon, and other local bloggers. What a great mini getaway before the holidays start!!

Do you have anything planned out yet for your December docket {aka anti-hibernation plan...aka things to do this winter}? Let me know!

Besides my older son's visit next week, we have my younger son's visit the first week in December for my birthday. We may have a visti from Bill's sister at some point, and possibly from Bill's son and DIL and our grandson. That's the fun of living in Florida in the winter, especially living this close to Disney World. We really love having everyone come and visit us, and we have annual passes to Disney, so we go all the time, with or without company. :-)
